  13.     my telco told me that many FAX machines can now detect distinctive ring 
  14. patterns.  Are there any fax/modems that have this feature??

  16.     I am currently using a device that listens to the incoming call to 
  17. determine if it is voice, fax, or data.  This works, however the device blocks 
  18. any caller ID info from reaching my telephone.
  19.  
  20.     A distinctive ring sensitive fax/modem sounds like it would solve my 
  21. problem.  I could run the telco line from the wall to the fax/modem and then 
  22. to my telephone.   I am hoping the fax/modem will only intercept the incoming 
  23. call if the correct ring pattern is detected, otherwise the incoming call 
  24. would pass cleanly to the telephone with the caller ID info intact.

  26.     Does anybody have any info on fax/modems that are "distinctive ring 
  27. sensitive"??
